Progress and Works

Been working with Gavin Li a concept artist <> on some projects together.

sculpting and general anatomy studies.

Some inspirational quotes to end with;

The biggest room is the room for improvement.

I couldn't afford art school so I told myself that no-matter what I would never give up.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

Failures do what is tension relieving, while winners do what is goal achieving.

To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first.

until next time,

good job,
your models have a tendency to look stiff below the waist. I think an anatomy study where you concentrate on the curvature on the legs would greatly benefit you.

keep working hard.

Hey Sam,

Good to hear from you... you've come along way and fast! It's exciting to see your development.

I like the inspirational quote, it has helped me out haha.

I'm preparing for the careers fair coming up at the end of October, if all goes well it should be a great opportunity to present myself as a game art student looking to work in Environments!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm in the process of doing full body anatomy sculpts that will hopefully make my models feel more dynamic.

Del - I dug around and found your student interview which was very enlightening.

Something you said that stuck with me "Students make the mistake of often comparing themselves to other students, and their peers when they should be comparing their work to professionals."

I find this so true, my classmates are proud when they get a distinction because it'll reassure them about they're work - but to me I know that there so much amazing skill out there that while I'm the best in my class I'm nothing compared to most of the artists work I see on a day-to-day basis.

Dan - It's great to hear your progressing, I saw your dom-4 war entry a few months back while browsing forums and was like I KNOW THIS GUY :D. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks for feedback both of you, hope to update soon with more work!
